D.R.E.A.M. - Diabetes Research & Education Advocates of Michigan - is a non-profit corporation dedicated to raising money for diabetes research. We have several key objectives:
• Seek contributions through fundraising activities
• Support research to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes
• Educate the public about the growing epidemic of Type 1 Diabetes
In our search for a cure, D.R.E.A.M. has partnered with the University of Michigan to fund cutting-edge diabetes research programs. We have made a commitment to donate $100,000 to the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, for diabetes research.

• Type 1 Diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and was previously known as juvenile diabetes. In Type 1 Diabetes , the body does not produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is needed to convert sugar (glucose), starches and other food into energy needed for daily life
• Diabetes currently affects 246 million people worldwide and is expected to affect 380 million people by 2025
• In the U.S., a new case of diabetes is diagnosed every 30 seconds; more than 1.6 million people are diagnosed each year |
